The Z Fellows Newsletter - April 28th, 2025
Welcome back to the Z Fellows newsletter! Every Monday we share 3 ideas - to help you build companies, ship products, and create your life's work.

1: LeBron James on loving your craft
"I've always wanted to be as great as I could be. I never knew what it looked like, but I knew my craft and my passion for wanting to be great.
I didn't know what the end result was. I knew I was in love with the process and I didn't know what I was going to get out of it, but when I fell in love with the process, rewards were at the end of the tunnel.
It was never the rewards first and then worry about the process - it was always about the process first. My reward was the process.
We've seen the strongest guys don't make it, we've seen the most athletic guys don't make it. What separates is the level of commitment to one's craft, and I don't think that's talked about enough in our sport."

2: Ryan Holiday on discipline
"Self-discipline is giving everything you have… and knowing what to hold back. Is there some contradiction in this? No, only balance.
Some things we resist, some things we pursue; in all things, we proceed with moderation, intentionally, reasonably, without being consumed or carried away.
Temperance is not deprivation but command of oneself physically, mentally, spiritually—demanding the best of oneself, even when no one is looking, even when allowed less.
Name someone truly great without self-discipline. Discipline is not about six-pack abs or the avoidance of all that feels good, but instead about developing the fortitude required for the path we have chosen. It's about being able to go the distance, and steering clear of the blind alleys and mirages along the way."
